One Mile State School has been serving the Gympie community since 1869 and has a longstanding and proud history within the local area.
At One Mile State School, collaborative working relationships amongst parents, staff and students are fostered and valued. Our student responsible behaviour plan focuses on showing respect and being safe. Social skills and bullying programs are a key component of our curriculum.
Our school is currently modifying the curriculum program offered to align with the Australian Curriculum. Literacy and numeracy teaching underpins each of the key learning areas. Extension programs, early intervention strategies, P-3 reading blocks, learning support and special needs programs support and enhance the quality of the curriculum program offered at One Mile State School.
The school is engaged in the eSmart initiative to ensure our use of technology is smart and safe, embracing the best that the technologies have to enhance student learning.
Students have opportunities to participate in a range of extra curricula activities including instrumental music, choir, sporting teams and lunch programs. Our chaplain provides support to our school community and works in alignment with our school virtues program.
We encourage you to let your gold shine at One Mile StateSchool.
