One Mile State School Earlyact
OMSS Earlyact is our primary school Rotary club in partnership with the Gympie Rotary Club. It is a school wide service club for all our students and staff. Earlyact fosters collaborative partnerships, promoting valuable relationships that nurture pride, community spirit and the value of service to the school and wider community. The mission of Earlyact is to promote goodwill, service, understanding and peace through the active participation of its student members so that with committed citizenship and effective leadership they may improve the quality of life of their school and beyond. One Mile State School captains are on the Earlyact Committee along with student representatives from year five. Meetings are held three times per term during lunch time. Student Earlyact committee members work with teacher mentors to achieve the following minimum three projects a year;
1. School Based Project
2. Local Community Project
3. International Project
Some completed projects include Pink Stumps Day for the McGrath Foundation, School based recycling projects, water coolers around our school and care packages posted to serving personnel of the Australian Defence Force.
