Prep at One Mile State School
One Mile SS currently has three Prep Classes situated at the southern end of the school. The three classrooms form an area that makes the first year of school less confronting with a specific play area and close proximity to toilets and drinking taps.
Our older students also help the Prep students settle in by forming a ‘buddy’ relationship with a Year 5 or 6 student. This provides a leadership opportunity for our older students and positive student role model for our Prep students.
Our dedicated teachers and teacher aides provide a supportive and inclusive environment to provide our students with what they need to succeed
Learning in Prep
At One Mile Prep children learn in many different ways including play, organised games, and investigation. They develop important life skills by working with other children and adults. Prep makes connections between school and what your child learns at home and in early childhood education.
